A recent inspection revealed deficiencies in a culvert beneath the roadway and it is closing so the DOT can address the issue. Drivers should expect closures between Percy Road and Bromley Road in Riga.

Drivers can follow detours that will utilize State Route 36, State Route 259 and Interstate 490. Signboards have been placed to alert drivers in advance.

The New York State Department of Transportation has not provided a reopening date for State Route 33 there. It was closed March 27.

Construction schedules are subject to change depending on the weather. The DOT will provide updates as the project develops.

Drivers should anticipate travel delays and seek alternate routes if necessary. The DOT encourages drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones.

Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
