Rochester police investigate suspicious death

Rochester police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred on Lyell Avenue on Thursday, March 26.

Officers found the body of a man on the side porch of a house on Lyell Avenue, just west of Broad Street, around 7:30 a.m. on March 26, according to Capt. Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department.

Medical examiner involved

The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office is working with Rochester police to identify the man and determine the cause of death. RPD’s Major Crimes Unit is treating the incident as a “suspicious death,” Bello said.

Call for information

Anyone with information about the death is asked to call 911.
