Rascoe and Fingar are Section V Athletes of the Week presented by Faber Builders

These are the Section V Athletes of the Week for May 4-10 presented by Faber Builders.

Girls Athlete of the Week

Emma Rascoe received over 17,000 votes. The Webster Schroeder flag football quarterback threw 11 touchdown passes, while completing 81 of 114 pass attempts for 708 yards, ran for 4 touchdowns and pulled 15 flags, 3 for sacks, as the Warriors won three games, including 20-0 over undefeated rival Webster Thomas.

Boys Athlete of the Week

Braden Fingar received over 6,000 votes. The Penn Yan lacrosse player recorded 12 points, including seven goals, across two games last week. Fingar also totaled eight ground balls in a win versus Section VI’s Hamburg.

During the spring season, the polls launched on Mondays at democratandchronicle.com to determine the Athlete of the Week from the previous week’s top performances. Your vote determined who was honored as Section V’s best.

The poll was live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner was announced first on our Instagram page, found at instagram.com/dandcsports.
