21-year-old Port Chester man is facing felony charges accusing him of having and sharing images of child sexual abuse, the Westchester District Attorney’s Office announced.
Christopher Mendoza was arraigned in Rye Town Court on Wednesday, June 24, on charges of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.
According to the felony complaint, on Feb. 5, 2025, Mendoza allegedly shared on Snapchat a video of an adult male sexually abusing a girl who was approximately 7- to 10-years-old. On Jan. 30 this year, he allegedly had a video file showing a naked girl the same age engaging in sexual activity.
The case was investigated by the DA’s Hi-Technology Crime unit, New York state police, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Mendoza was released without bail. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted of the promoting charge.
