Popular discount retailer will open two new locations

Two more Ross Dress for Less stores will open in the Rochester market on July 18, according to the company website.

The new 29,504-square-foot Henrietta store is at 2335 Marketplace Drive, next to Target. The location had been vacant since 2018, when Babies R Us closed.

The new 27,000-square-foot Irondequoit store is in Irondequoit Plaza at 525 Titus Ave. The space had been vacant since 2024, when Big Lots announced mass closures as part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring.

Based in Dublin, California, Ross Dress for Less sells discounted apparel and home goods in a no-frills setting.

There are nearly 1,800 Ross Dress for Less stores in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico.

The chain expected to open 110 locations in 2026, it said in March.

How many Ross Dress for Less stores are in New York state and the Rochester area?

The chain has more than a dozen locations in New York state.

The Henrietta and Irondequoit stores are the third and fourth in the Rochester market.

The first Ross Dress for Less here opened in 2023 in Westgate Plaza in Gates, and the second opened in 2024 in Cobblestone Court Plaza, across from Eastview Mall in Victor.
