Wayne County coroner identifies homicide victim as Indianapolis woman

RICHMOND, IN — A homicide victim pronounced dead Wednesday night at Reid Hospital has been identified as an Indianapolis woman.

In a release on Friday, June 26, the Wayne County coroner’s office said the victim was 36-year-old Shanae Robinson.

A Mississippi man, 38-year-old LaDavid Jaron Shaw, was being held Friday in a jail in Preble County, Ohio, on suspicion of murder.

Robinson’s body was found Wednesday evening in a semi outside the Petro Travel Center in New Paris, Ohio, just across the Indiana-Ohio state line.

Her remains were later taken to the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio, for a “forensic autopsy and confirmatory identification,” Wayne County Coroner Brent Meadows said in a release on Thursday.

That release also said investigators had determined the death had been the result of foul play.

Preble County, Ohio Sheriff Mike Simpson told reporters that the driver of the semi, later identified as Shaw, indicated he was responsible for her death.
