The Pittsford swim programs can add another accomplishment to their ever-growing list of accolades.
The Panthers’ boys and girls varsity swim teams were both included in the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association dual meet team rankings for the 2025-26 academic year.
Both teams are coached by Rick Schmitt, the longtime boys swim coach who also took over the girls program from Marty Keating last fall.
Pittsford’s boys ranked second among all public schools with an enrollment of 1,401 to 1,900 students, while the girls team placed fourth.
Only four teams from New York state were included in the rankings. NISCA also released its list of All-Americans for 2025-26. Those included have among the top 100 times in the nation for their event.
All three of McQuaid’s boys relay teams, featuring Ben Hinds, Xavier Joseph, Ian Miller and Luke McCormack, were included. The 200 free relay (1:22.94) was 24th, the 200 medley relay (1:30.88) slotted at 26th and the 400 free relay (3:03.92) ranked 44th. Miller also placed 77th in the 100 butterfly (48.78).
Two of Pittsford’s girls relay teams, featuring the foursome of Lexi Lombard, Lily Orlando, Molly Bennett and Sarah Kunze, were recognized. The 200 free relay (1:35.11) was 51st while the 400 free relay (3:28.69) was 78th.
Fairport’s girls 200 free relay (Charlotte Larzelere, Hannah Rusho, Riley Hauber and Kaleigh Lawrence) was listed 73rd in 1:35.62.
Churchville-Chili senior Kyler Thomas was honored for diving.
