PGA Tour Champions winners, other stars to watch at Dick's Open

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – A blended mix of amateurs, PGA Tour Champions veterans and seasoned golfers who simply love being out on the green will crowd the 18-hole course at En-Joie Golf Club this weekend, looking to cross “hoisting the 2026 Dick’s Open Champions trophy” off their summer to-do list.

The 78-player field, which includes several decorated international golfers such as World Golf Hall of Famers Retief Goosen (South Africa) and Colin Montgomerie (Scotland), boasts 11 PGA Tour Major Championship winners and 56 PGA Tour winners who combine for over 200 PGA Tour titles (248).

Of the many golfers looking to top this year’s tournament, here are a few who are especially key to look out for.

Padraig Harrington – Ireland

The three-time Dick’s Open champion and World Golf Hall of Famer Harrington returns to the course after taking a hiatus from the tournament in 2025 to compete in the Genesis Scottish Open. Harrington is undoubtedly familiar with the feel of the Dick’s Open trophy and will be looking to brush off missing the cut at the U.S. Open last week, making his journey back to Dick’s Open glory and tournament play a must-watch.

Steve Allan – Australia

Allan continues his strong form from last year, remaining in the top 20 of the Schwab Cup with two top-10 finishes on the tour this year, including placing third at the Senior PGA Championship. He became the first wire-to-wire winner in last year’s tournament—the first in tournament history—and will look to recreate and/or top the 6-under 66, four-stroke victory this year.

Retief Goosen – South Africa

Goosen finished in the top 10 in six PGA Tour Champions tournaments this year, including taking first in the Mitsubishi Electric Classic after an eight-birdie final round, including one at the par-5 18th to finish with 39 points. Finishing atop the Dick’s Open scoreboard would place Goosen over fellow South African-born golfer Ernie Els, who is currently ranked third in the Charles Schwab Cup.

Scott Hend – Australia

Hend captured three top-3 finishes out of four tour tournaments this year, including securing his first win on the Tour at the Trophy Hassan II tournament in Morocco. Currently ranked sixth in the Schwab Cup, Hend is swinging this weekend to continue to add to what looks like one of his best tour runs yet.

Darren Clarke – Northern Ireland

Clarke currently ranks tenth in the Schwab Cup but boasts one of the most active tour runs this year, having played in 11 PGA Tour Champions tournaments. Clarke claimed his first Champions title at the American Family Insurance Championship alongside No. 8-ranked Ben Crane in early June after tying for third place in the Insperity Invitational.

Notable mentions: Boo Weekley (US) – 2026 Insperity Invitational winner, Colin Montgomerie (SCO), Miguel Ángel Jiménez (ESP), David Toms (US) – 2026 Chubb Classic winner, Tommy Gainey (US), George McNeill (US)
