Monroe County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a person who was struck by a train in Churchville early Tuesday morning.
Deputies confirmed Tuesday that a pedestrian was struck by an Amtrak train and that the body was located and declared dead at the scene, which was initially reported to be near South Main and Carroll streets around 12:15 a.m.
The pedestrian’s name was not released, pending notification of family, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Further details about the incident were not released, including what time the train struck the pedestrian. Deputies are investigating the incident.
