Spring is officially here in New York, but winter isn’t entirely gone just yet. By mid-April, most parts of the state have already seen their last measurable snowfall, especially in New York City and other downstate areas, as temperatures continue to trend warmer.
Still, history shows the season doesn’t always end cleanly. Upstate cities like Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany have recorded late-season snow into late April — and in rare cases, even early May — along with the occasional overnight freeze.
