A new Marshalls location opened in New York City, bringing another discount retail option to shoppers in the boroughs.
The store opened April 23 at 850 Third Ave. in Brooklyn, according to the retailer’s website. It’s the only New York location included in the company’s latest round of store openings.
Part of broader expansion plan
The Brooklyn store is one of four Marshalls locations opening across the U.S. in late April, as parent company TJX Companies continues to expand its footprint.
The company — which also operates T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Sierra and HomeSense — said it runs more than 5,200 stores worldwide, including over 1,250 Marshalls locations. Company leaders have said they plan to continue growing, with a long-term goal of adding more stores across their brands.
What Marshalls sells
Marshalls is known as an off-price retailer, offering discounted clothing, home goods and beauty products. Shoppers can also find seasonal décor, pet items, luggage and more. The retailer launched its online store, Marshalls.com, in 2019, expanding access beyond in-store shopping.
Other openings nationwide
Along with the Brooklyn location, new stores are opening in Oklahoma, Alabama and South Carolina later this month. Marshalls has also recently opened additional stores in several other states.
