Nearly 300 marijuana plants found inside Bronx apartment

The NYPD is searching for a suspect after officers discovered a large-scale illegal marijuana grow operation inside a Bronx residence.

Police said officers were at Apartment 1V at 750 Pelham Parkway on Tuesday, May 12, for an eviction check when they found 299 marijuana plants, THC products and growing equipment inside the unit.

Illegal grow setup found inside

Investigators said the apartment had been outfitted with specialized ventilation and lighting systems used to cultivate the plants, indicating an organized grow operation.

No arrests made

No one was inside the apartment at the time of the discovery, and no arrests were immediately made. Police said the suspect responsible for the operation has not yet been located.
