A mother and her 6-year-old daughter were killed Thursday, Aug. 6 in an ATV rollover crash in the Town of Wellsville, New York State Police said.
A 3-year-old boy was also injured in the crash, which Amity-based troopers said took place around 2:30 p.m. on Niles Hill Road.
According to State Police, a 2003 Polaris Trail Boss 4-wheeler driven by Ashley R. Robichaud, 38, of Wellsville with her two children was traveling along a pasture fence line when it overturned, pinning Ashley Robichaud and 6-year-old Emersyn E. Robichaud underneath the vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The vehicle overturned at the lowest point of elevation in the pasture, troopers said.
State police said the 3-year-old was transported by Mercy Flight to Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester with non-life-threatening injuries.
The New York State Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in what troopers said is an ongoing investigation.
