Warriors may face difficulty signing 13-year veteran away from Spurs

NBA insider Jake Fischer recently revealed two potential free agent targets with Golden State’s final two roster spots, those being Kelly Olynyk and Georges Niang.

However, the Warriors may find themselves missing out on another one of their free agent targets. Olynyk, a current free agent and a recent member of the Spurs, was recently seen with his San Antonio teammates in France. Olynyk was pictured with former Warriors forward Harrison Barnes, Carter Bryant, Dylan Harper, Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle in front of the famous “Mona Lisa” painting at the Louvre museum. While this is no clear indication that Olynyk will re-sign with the Spurs, it could very well happen, as San Antonio also has one roster spot remaining.

If Olynyk were to stay in San Antonio, Golden State may be forced to shift their focus to Niang or other free agent forwards. Another scoring guard/forward would be ideal considering the injuries to Jimmy Butler III and Moses Moody.
