Monroe County officially launched a program that will help veterans to receive a discount or a special offer from participating businesses.
Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo rolled out the “Return the F.A.V.O.R.” Card Program (Find and Assist Veterans of Record) on June 29.
The program provides honorably discharged veterans with a discount card issued by county clerk offices across the state. Participating county businesses will honor the card and provide a discount or a special offer on purchases or services.
“Veterans have made tremendous sacrifices in service to our country and this program is one way we can demonstrate our gratitude every day of the year,” Romeo said in a statement. “The Return the F.A.V.O.R. Veteran Card Program creates a simple but impactful way for our community to show support for our local veterans.”
Individuals in the reserves or currently on active duty can present their military identification cards to participating businesses to receive the same discounts.
To get a Monroe County “Return the F.A.V.O.R.” Card, individuals can stop by the county clerk’s office in downtown Rochester with their discharge papers anytime Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. An appointment is not required and participation in the program is free.
Local businesses who are interested in providing discounts through the program are encouraged to visit this website for information and enrollment www.monroecounty.gov/favor-bizform.
