Binghamton resident Colyn C. Williams, who was last seen on Feb. 6, 2026 and considered an endangered missing person, has been found dead, according to the Binghamton Police Department.
Williams, 38, was last seen in the area of UHS Binghamton General Hospital on the South Side of Binghamton.
On March 25, the Vestal Police Department and New York State Police responded to a report of a deceased male found on the embankment around 2:30 p.m., in an area of the riverbank behind Bob Murphy Inc. on Vestal Road.
The Vestal Police Department and the NYS Police Forensic Identification Unit identified the individual to be Colyn C. Williams. The Vestal Police Department will be handling the investigation. At this time police say the cause of death does not appear to be criminal in nature.
In a March 26 interview with the Press & Sun-Bulletin, Binghamton Police Captain of the Detective Division Matthew Hodnik could only share limited details about the active investigation. According to Hodnik, officers went out to conduct a search of the area where Williams was last known to be seen. From that search, evidence was found confirming Williams “was in that area at that time.”
