Man dies after being struck in crosswalk in Farmington

A pedestrian who was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Friday night at the intersection of Route 332 and State Route 96 in Ontario County has died, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. when Nicholas Pruden, 33, of Keuka Park, was driving north on Route 332 and had a green light to proceed through the intersection. As Pruden entered the intersection, Cory DiSanto, 38, of Farmington, stepped into the crosswalk and was struck. Deputies said witnesses confirmed that Pruden had the right of way.

DiSanto suffered serious injuries, including a head injury, and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Victor-Farmington Ambulance. He died from his injuries on Saturday, deputies said.

The incident remains under investigation.
