A Rochester, New York, man faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after deputies say he led law enforcement on a vehicle and foot pursuit in a stolen SUV, including driving across a Monroe County golf course.
A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputy received a license plate reader alert at about 4:42 p.m. June 21 for a stolen 2019 Hyundai Tucson traveling north on Lake Avenue near Latta Road in Rochester, according to the sheriff’s office.
After confirming the vehicle had been reported stolen in Rochester, the deputy attempted a traffic stop. Investigators said the driver accelerated away, prompting a pursuit.
Suspect allegedly drove across golf course
During the chase, deputies monitored traffic conditions and public safety risks, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities said the driver eventually left the roadway and drove onto the Lakeshore Country Club golf course, causing damage as the vehicle traveled across the property.
The driver then jumped from the moving SUV and attempted to flee on foot before deputies took him into custody without injury to deputies or members of the public.

Sheriff Todd Baxter described Granito-Hertz as a repeat offender who has been involved in multiple stolen vehicle incidents and pursuits.
Following arraignment, a Monroe County judge remanded Granito-Hertz to jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
