All the uniforms have been handed in.
We had two state champions this spring, Rye and Iona Prep. We had four NYSPHSAA semifinalists, Mamaroneck, Yorktown, Rye and Bronxville.
So who’s No. 1?
It came down to Iona Prep and Mamaroneck, who both had some consistency issues this season but still posted a couple of wins against noteworthy regional powers. They again did not go head-to-head and only had one common opponent, New Canaan, Connectuct. Both lost close games to the CIAC runner-up.
We debated their strength of schedule. Both played impressive competition.
In the end, the Tigers went goal for goal with the best public school team in the NYSPHSAA Class A East Semifinal before Massapequa capitalized on late mistakes and won 13-11. The Gaels did not face a single threat during the CHSAA AA postseason, which clearly is in need of a makeover.

1. Mamaroneck (17-4): All four losses came against opponents that played for New York and Connecticut state championships — Manhasset, New Canaan, Darien and Massapequa. Previously: 1
2. Iona Prep (18-4): Was there a more lethal combination than Billy Haggerty and Tim Plunkett anywhere in the Lower Hudson Valley? The answer is a confident no. Previously: 2
3. Rye (17-5): History was made and the Garnets capped off a remarkable school year with a NYSPHSAA Class C championship. Previously: 3
4. Yorktown (16-5): The win over Darien, which collected another Connecticut state title, is going to be talked about for years. Previously: 4
5. Somers (12-7): It was an impressive run given the amount of turnover. Previously: 6
6. Bronxville (14-7): Last year’s Section 1 Class D championship was defended with authority. Previously: 9
7. Greeley (12-7): If the underclassmen stick around, the Quakers stay in play for another another Section 1 Class B championship appearance. Previously: 5
8. John Jay-Cross River (10-8): Father Time will correct a lot of the issues that slowed this up-and-coming team. Previously: 7
9. Pelham (12-6): There is so much potential here, but it’s not going to get any easier in Class C next season. Previously: 10
10. Pleasantville (13-6): After so much growth on the fly, the Panthers have to the be the favorite in Class D heading into next season. Previously: 8
On the bubble: Hackley (15-2); Stepinac (7-13); Scarsdale (10-9).
