The Elmira Kiwanis Club honored six athletes and coaches from schools in Chemung County at its 2025-26 high school awards ceremony Thursday, June 4 at the Clarion Inn in Elmira.
The awards:
Dick Senko Male Athlete of the Year: Luca Capilli, Elmira High School (boys soccer and boys lacrosse).
Bee Stephens Female Athlete of the Year: Alexa Lese, Horseheads High School (soccer, softball, lacrosse).
Junker Johnston Softball Player of the Year: Aurora Parlo, Thomas A. Edison.
Joel Stephens Baseball Player of the Year: Cooper Ball, Horseheads.
Patti Perone Female Team Coach of the Year: Lee Spencer, Horseheads girls soccer.
Mike D’Aloisio Male Team Coach of the Year: Kyle Erickson, Thomas A. Edison football.
