L3Harris CEO Christopher Kubasik steps down after probe

L3Harris Technologies said Chairman and CEO Christopher Kubasik left the company this week after a board investigation into conduct that was reportedly inconsistent with the company’s values.

The defense contractor has named executive Sam Mehta as its next chief executive. Rochester-based executive Christopher Aebli will step into Mehta’s former role as president of the communications and spectrum dominance segment, the company announced Aug. 17.

L3Harris said it entered into a separation agreement with Kubasik after learning of behavior in contrast to the company’s code of conduct. Kubasik’s exit was unrelated to the company’s financial reporting, controls, customer relationships or operational performance, the company said.

L3Harris did not provide additional details about the conduct. We’ve reached out to Kubasik and will update this story if he has comment.

Mehta has over 25 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry and joined L3Harris in 2023.
