Unlicensed driver caught going 105 mph with child in southern Michigan

A driver was caught going 105 mph in a 75-mph zone in Wexford County on US-131 on Monday, Aug. 17 with a four-year-old lying across the backseat, according to Michigan State Police.

Officials say the driver was unlicensed and the child unrestrained.

A trooper stopped the driver on Monday morning in Liberty Township, approximately 12 miles south of Jackson.

The driver, according to MSP’s Seventh District, was cited for no driver’s license, child restraint violation and speed violation.

“Driving at or below the posted speed limit and always buckling up are two of the most important choices you can make on Michigan roadways,” a news release from MSP said.

“Make the safe choice. Slow down and buckle up.”
