A Kingston man is facing two felony assault charges after he allegedly stabbed another man in the parking lot of a mall on April 18.
According to Town of Ulster police, the stabbing happened during an altercation between two men in the parking lot of the Kings Mall at 1200 Ulster Ave.
Town of Ulster police detectives learned that during the altercation, one man stabbed the other man in the chest using a sharp object, causing serious physical injuries.
The stabbing victim was taken to HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Hospital in the City of Kingston. Further information on his condition was not immediately available.
Detectives subsequently arrested Mark D. Olsson IV, 23, of Kingston.
Olsson was charged with first- and second-degree assault, both felonies, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in Ulster County Centralized Arraignment Part Court and sent to the Ulster County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, pending further court action.
The name of Olsson’s attorney was not immediately available.
