The 35th Brewster International Kaleidoscope Expo is being held in Rochester this week, and the showroom will be open to the public two days.
Designers will display and sell more than 1,000 kaleidoscopes at the showroom at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center, 123 E. Main St. It will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 21. The cost is $5 for each adult, children with an adult and students with school IDs are free.
Non-members also will be able to register for any class by a designer, with a $25 non-member upcharge, at the sales room table. However, few slots were available for the classes as of Friday, June 12.
People can become a member quickly by completing a membership form and paying dues for one or two years. They then can buy $355 tickets to attend the entire expo, register for a class at list price and receive a 10% discount on purchases in the sales room.
Some society members will tour the Corning Museum of Glass on Wednesday, June 17. The expo, which includes meetings, classes, meals, awards and a costume contest, will officially start Thursday, June 18, and continue through Sunday.
