Additional rules for specialty plates
If a vehicle’s registration has expired or expires within 60 days, motorists must renew their registration first before placing an order for a new plate.
It will take roughly 10 days from when your order is placed to receive information including the new or current plate number.
For motorists who order custom plates, they will take about six weeks to arrive, but documentation will arrive approximately 10 days after the order has been processed.
After receiving a new license plate, the old one must be marked with permanent marker and shredded into pieces before recycling to prevent any fraudulent activity.
