New York State Police charged a Chemung County man with predatory sexual assault in an ongoing case state and local investigators say involves multiple juvenile victims.
Horseheads-based state police arrested Kenneth G. Morales, 29, of Horseheads on Oct. 8, according to a Friday, Oct. 17 press release. Predatory sexual assault is a class A-II felony charge.
Authorities said Morales was taken into custody without incident. After processing, he was remanded to the Schuyler County jail in lieu of $300,000 cash bail or $600,000 bond.
State police said a joint investigation with the Elmira Police Department began in August 2025 after information was developed regarding historical sexual abuse in both Chemung and Schuyler counties.
Forensic interviews conducted at the Chemung County Child Advocacy Center led investigators to identify Morales as the prime suspect, the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation said.
State police said the case remains under active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police at 585-398-4100 or crimetip@troopers.ny.gov
