What authorities say happened at the Hampton Inn
Law enforcement officials said the Hornell police received a delayed complaint April 27 from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office regarding two victims who were struck by a bullet fired in the parking lot of the Route 36 hotel.
Police allege that after an argument over money, Grimmer fired one 9mm round into the back of a fleeing vehicle occupied by three adults.
According to authorities, two of the vehicle’s passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were treated at Rochester General Hospital, police said.
Grimmer was taken into custody by Hornell police, without incident, in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn on April 29, the department said.
Grimmer was transferred to Steuben County Centralized Arraignment Court for a pending appearance.
Grimmer is currently being held in the Steuben County jail, according to online records. No bail information was available.
