Here’s what it costs to play Monroe County golf courses this year

Monroe County’s three public golf courses are open for the season, County Executive Adam Bello announced on Monday.

The county’s three courses include Churchville, Durand Eastman and Genesee Valley. Genesee Valley, split between the north and south courses, offers 36 playable holes and a driving range. Churchville east and west have 27 holes and a driving range. Durand features an 18-hole course across the road from Lake Ontario.

“Monroe County’s three affordable and accessible public golf courses add to the tremendous quality of life residents here enjoy throughout the warmer months,” Bello said in an April 21 press release. “I encourage everyone, no matter your skill level, to take advantage of the warm weather ahead and hit the links.”

Durand, arguably the most scenic of the three courses, has endured several projects in recent years to improve quality of the course. Recent focus has been on improving the drainage system, to help the course better grapple with rainfall.
