Allegany County Republicans will choose the party’s candidate for country treasurer in primary election voting on Tuesday, June 24.
Former county legislator Adam B. Cyr of Wirt and current deputy county treasurer Jenna L. Kelley of West Almond are competing to succeed retiring treasurer Terri Ross.
The winner advances to the Nov. 4 general election with the Republican ballot line.
Only registered Republican voters can cast ballots in the county treasurer primary race.
A Republican primary for the Allegany County Board of Legislators is on tap in District III, with five candidates running for three positions on the general election ballot.
Registered Republicans in the towns of Alma, Bolivar, Genesee, Independence, Scio, Willing and Wirt are eligible to vote in the District III primary.
There is one Democratic Party primary in Allegany County this year. Town of Cuba Democrats are asked to write in one candidate’s name for Cuba Town Board. Only registered Democrats who live in the Town of Cuba may vote.
Primary day polls are open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. on June 24.

Allegany County Treasurer (Republican Primary)
Candidates: Jenna L. Kelley, Adam B. Cyr
Allegany County District III Board of Legislators (Republican Primary)
Towns of Alma, Bolivar, Genesee, Independence, Scio, Willing and Wirt only.
Candidates (Vote for any three): Charles Bessette, Bill Dibble, Ethen T. Marble, Bill Meunier, Rickey Whitney
Town of Amity
Republican primary for Town Council
Candidates (Vote for any two): Joshua Brown, Harold W. Mitchell, James Schneider
Town of Cuba
Democratic primary for Town Council
Candidates (Vote for one): Write-in only
Town of Independence
Republican primary for Town Council
Candidates (Vote for any two) : Danielle R. Freeman, Jane Hall, Kimberly R. Howe
Town of Willing
Republican primary for Town Council
Candidates (Vote for any two): Roy G. Gay, Chris Perkins, Monroe Rosemier
When is early voting in Allegany County?
Early voting for the primary is available June 14-22, at two sites in Allegany County: The United Methodist Church, 7 Park Circle, Belmont, and the Wellsville Village Office, 23 N. Main St., Wellsville.
