Harriman man accused of possessing child pornography

HARRIMAN – A village of Harriman man has been accused of possessing child pornography.

State police said they arrested Philip Kinkel, 57, of Harriman on March 25 and charged him with possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 17 years old, a felony.

Kinkel’s arrest was a result of a joint investigation by Troop F’s Computer Crimes Unit and the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

That investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at Kinkel’s residence on March 25.

State police said Kinkel possessed and had access to images and videos that were consistent with child sexual exploitation.

Kinkel was processed at the state police Monroe barracks, released and issued a ticket to appear in Village of Harriman Court on April 17.

The name of his attorney was not immediately available.
