New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is eager to play alongside Francis Mauigoa in 2026.
Dart recently praised Mauigoa for the warrior-like mentality he displayed at the 2026 NFL draft, highlighting the lengths to which the rookie is willing to go to protect the Giants’ franchise quarterback starting next season.
“That’s my boy,” Dart said, via ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “I can’t wait to get after it with him. Just him already coming in with that attention to detail and maturity — it’s very prevalent in the way he goes about his business and how he’s going to do his job at an extremely high level. I was fired up hearing what he said on draft night.”
Mauigoa expressed his willingness to “die” for Dart while protecting him in the pocket immediately after being selected by the Giants with the No. 10 overall pick. His words resonated with Dart, who is entering his second season in the league with New York.
Shortly after those comments, Dart, running back Cam Skattebo, and tight end Theo Johnson oversaw rookie minicamp, with the quarterback keeping a close eye on his new right guard.
The Giants’ offensive line has improved over the last couple of seasons and is projected to be even stronger in 2026, with Mauigoa starting at right guard and protecting Dart in a season that holds significant potential for the team.
