MONTICELLO – A Fallsburg man was sentenced Jan. 15 to seven years in state prison after he was convicted of child sexual abuse charges.
Sullivan County District Attorney Brian Conaty announced the sentence for Robert Brown, 63.
Brown also was sentenced to 10 years of post-release supervision. Sullivan County Court Judge James Farrell also ordered Brown to register as a sex offender. He also ordered Brown not to contact the victims for 25 years.
Conaty said Brown pleaded guilty on Oct. 7, 2025, to second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and first-degree sexual abuse, both felonies.
In so pleading, Brown admitted that between September 2017 and September 2018, he subjected a 15-year-old girl to sexual contact by touching her intimate parts through forcible compulsion. He also admitted that between 2019 and 2020 he engaged in two acts of sexual conduct with a girl less than 13 years old by touching her intimate parts.
Conaty said Brown claimed he thought these interactions were all just a dream, and blamed his own past history of abuse.
Conaty said the victims bravely addressed the court during Brown’s sentencing, providing victim impact statements detailing how the abuse has affected them.
“Brown abused his position of authority to repeatedly exploit these vulnerable victims,” Conaty said in a statement released by his office. “My office remains committed to protecting children and ensuring that those who commit these crimes are removed from our community.”
The name of Brown’s attorney was not immediately available.
