New York Giants great Lawrence Tynes had high praise for Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion during the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.
Concepcion faced ridicule for the speech impediment he displayed during his press conference at the combine on Friday. The 21-year-old spoke to reporters with a noticeable stutter before participating in on-field drills.

Since stepping to the podium, several former NFL players have come to Concepcion’s defense. Tynes, a staunch supporter, was among those who highlighted the North Carolina native’s talents rather than focusing on his speech impediment amid the wave of mockery.
On Sunday, Tynes praised Concepcion’s character off the field.
“He’s one of the best humans you will ever meet,” Tynes wrote in a post on X. “Takes time for kids and all fans. He is vocal and intentional about helping others with speech impediments. The ‘people’ mocking him can (expletive) off and watch him shine in life.”
Tynes views Concepcion as a first-round pick in this year’s draft.
Concepcion earned consensus first-team All-American honors in 2025 as a versatile all-purpose player. Last season, he recorded 919 receiving yards and 456 punt return yards while leading the SEC with nine receiving touchdowns.
Off the field, Concepcion founded the KC Concepcion Foundation, which aims to give back to youth in North Carolina and across the United States, reports On3’s Ethan McDowell.
During the on-field drills portion of the combine, Concepcion showcased his skills effectively, excelling in the gauntlet drill and the over-the-shoulder catch drill. On Monday, he posted a statement on Instagram addressing the ridicule he has faced and offering support to others who stutter.
