Approval ratings for President Donald Trump have hit new lows in four separate polls released this week – including the lowest recorded by one surveyor since his return to the White House last year.
The latest Quinnipiac University showed Trump’s approval rating at 32%, while 58% of respondents said they disapproved of the president’s job performance. According to the pollster, Trump’s performance in the poll is the worst recorded in either of his terms in the White House. Nearly half the voters surveyed also said they are “worse off financially” then they were one year ago and 88% said they feel inflation is a very serious or somewhat serious problem.
Similarly, the July 30 AP-NORC poll is the lowest recorded by the pollster since his return to the White House in 2025 – with just one-third voters surveyed approving his work. The other two-thirds surveyed did not approve of the president’s job performance.
A recent CNN poll found 34% approval of Trump’s job performance overall, matching the career low he reached after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots, and a 66% disapproval rating.
One factor leading to low ratings could be linked to the concern that Trump has not backed the right issues and is out of touch with the problems ordinary Americans face, according to the CNN poll. Seventy-three percent of respondents, a record-high per CNN, said Trump hasn’t paid enough attention to the nation’s most important issues, compared to 27% who feel his priorities are correct. Among them – the ongoing Iran war, inflation and economic conditions (including the rising price of gas and groceries).
