Craving seafood? Here's where to find Binghamton’s best catch

While the Binghamton area is known for its expansive restaurant scene and plethora of food options, seafood isn’t necessarily one of them.

There are plenty of local sushi spots and most local Italian restaurants serve a few items from the surf, but seafood lovers won’t find many local eateries where the menu is dedicated exclusively to seafood.

If you’re on the hunt for raw bars, seafood boils or lobster in Binghamton, you need to know where to look.

Here are some local restaurants known for having delicious, fresh seafood.

Remlik’s Grille and Oyster Bar

Remlik’s would be a great option for seafood lovers, as their menu offers an abundance of seafood options that are hard to find in the Binghamton area.

The restaurant has its own oyster bar and offers nine kinds of sushi. Seafood appetizers include crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, fried calamari, steamed littleneck clams and oysters Rockefeller.

Entrees on the menu include Chilean sea bass, Atlantic salmon, ahi tuna, San Francisco cioppino, scallops, lobster tail and the classic fish and chips.

Station 45 American Chop House

Nearby Station 45 offers plenty of options for seafood lovers, from starters and soups to main courses.

Along with starters like East Coast oysters, steamed clams and lump crab meat, Station 45 offers a seafood tower, complete with jumbo shrimp, oysters on the half shell, clams and calamari salad. For soups and salads, the menu features lobster bisque and a calamari salad.

Main courses include seafood dishes like salmon, Chilean sea bass, seared tuna, seared scallop and cold water lobster tail.

Fushimi Asian Fusion

While Fushimi is best known for sushi and Japanese cuisine, the restaurant also offers seafood boils, perfect for those craving the kind of seafood that is a little bit harder to find, like crab legs and crawfish.

The seafood boil comes with one pound of your choice of seafood, one potato, one piece of corn, three pieces of sausage and white rice. You can also pick from your choice of sauce, from options like Cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper, along with your preferred spice level.

Primary seafood options include shrimp, crawfish, scallops, green mussels, lobster tails, and snow crab legs. The options can also be combined if you want to try a little bit of each.

Good Taste is a local authentic Chinese restaurant, but the eatery also serves a variety of seafood boil options, ideal if you’re looking to pair your favorite takeout with some seafood.

The seafood boil options include crawfish, shrimp, scallops, snow crab legs, green mussels, and lobster tail, all of which include one potato, one piece of corn, and your choice of Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper, or boiling sauce.

Moxie Wood Fire Grill

The Cellar Restaurant and Lounge

The Cellar offers plenty of seafood options for a delicious dinner out.

You can start your meal with mussels with grilled crostini, Cajun calamari, pan-seared scallops, prosciutto-wrapped shrimp or smoked salmon crostini. If you’re looking for a simple but classic appetizer, the menu also offers oysters on the half shell.

One Cellar classic is lobster Thermidor, which features cold water lobster tail sautéed in sherry cream and served in a puff pastry with Swiss cheese.

Tony’s Italian Grill

Tony’s is another local spot that offers their unique spin on Italian food and seafood.

Appetizers include calamari fra diavolo, mussels in a white or red sauce, and tonno crudo, a Sicilian-style tuna sashimi.

For main entrees, the restaurant offers chimichurri salmon, swordfish and scallops. Surf and turf is also an option. Diners can add scallops or shrimp to a New York strip or filet mignon.

As a Binghamton staple in the restaurant scene, Cortese offers an abundance of seafood options.

Appetizers include little neck clams, oysters Rockefeller, clams or mussels in marinara with anchovies, shrimp scampi and scallops marinara.

Cortese offers pasta dishes like seafood pasta, shrimp scampi, linguine with fresh mussels and spaghetti with red or white clam, shrimp, lobster or calamari sauce.

For seafood entrees, the menu includes breaded sea scallops, orange roughy, barbecued shrimp, shrimp or lobster pizzaola, a seafood platter of lobster tail, clams oreganato, broiled shrimp and scallops.

Combine two dinner favorites with surf and turf, adding your preferred seafood to your chosen cut of meat if you’re feeling extra hungry.
