Dead body found on Hudson River shore in Yonkers

A male body was found dead on the shore of the Hudson River in Yonkers the morning of Monday, March 31.

Yonkers police Sgt. Robert Spink said officers responded to a 911 call and found the body of the unresponsive male along the shore of the river in the area of 70 Fernbrook Street, near the Ludlow Metro North Station around 10 a.m.

Spink said Yonkers Police Major Case Squad and Crime Scene Unit detectives remained at the scene conducting an investigation as of 12:30 p.m. No cause of death has been determined, and the victim has not yet been identified.

Police say more information will be released as it becomes available.
