The Bridge Street Bridge in the City of Corning will be closed to traffic from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, June 26 for training activities to analyze the bridge’s flood protection system.
The Corning City Department of Public Works will install and remove flood stop logs as part of annual preparedness training, city officials said. A detour will be in place, and motorist should expect traffic disruptions and follow posted detour routes at:
Officials said this annual training ensures city personnel remain prepared to quickly and effectively deploy flood protection measures during high-water events.
Corning City Manager Mark Ryckman said the city appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while this important exercise is conducted.
