The Corning Social Security Office will reopen for in-person services on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 200 Nasser Civic Center Plaza.
The office has been closed for renovations since April. The local telephone services will remain available at 1-866-591-3665. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Social Security customers can now make appointments for all types of services instead of waiting in line, resulting in a better overall experience and reductions in wait times with predictable appointments that help prevent long in-office lines.
Appointments can be made at ssa.gov/manage-benefits/make-an-appointment.
Customers can still wait in line if they cannot or do not want to make an appointment. People who are deaf or hard of hearing may call Social Security’s TTY number, 1-800-325-0778.
