A Corning man who was charged with multiple felonies after police say he robbed an Addison bank last year has pleaded guilty to the top count in the indictment.
Dominick W. Bova, 31, of West First Street in Corning, pleaded guilty in Steuben County Court to first-degree robbery, and also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of second-degree criminal contempt for trying to contact a witness in the case, according to Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker.
Bova was originally charged with nine counts, including first-degree robbery, third-degree grand larceny and first-degree criminal coersion, in connection with the Aug. 22, 2025 robbery at the First Heritage Federal Credit Union in Addison.
Investigators said that around 10:41 a.m. on that date, a suspect displayed what appeared to be a firearm, demanded money, and left with more than $4,000.
After a two-week investigation, investigators identified Bova as the suspect, and on Sept. 5, a Steuben County SWAT team, with assistance from the Corning Police Department, executed a search warrant at Bova’s residence and took him into custody.
During the search, investigators recovered an AR-style pellet rifle, a pellet pistol, a vehicle, cash and phones, according to Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard.
The plea agreement calls for Bova to be sentenced to nine years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, Baker said. Bova will also be ordered to pay restitution and waived his right to appeal.
An order of protection on behalf of witnesses in the case will also be put into place when Bova is sentenced in July, Baker added. Bova has been in custody at the Steuben County Jail since his arrest.
The Village of Addison Police Department, New York State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in the investigation.
