An Allegany County man was killed Saturday, June 6 in a motorcycle crash on state Route 70 in the town of Burns, according to New York State Police.
Amity-based troopers responded at approximately 10:30 p.m. for an unoccupied motorcycle laying off the north side shoulder of Route 70.
After investigating, state police said a 2024 Kawasaki being driven by Jayson P. Mess, 50, of Canaseraga was westbound on Route 70 when the bike left the north shoulder of the road and struck a sign post, ejecting Mess.
Troopers said Mess was located deceased in a ditch near the collision.
State police did not list a cause of the crash or further word on an investigation.
