Bills targeted but missed All-Pro pass rusher during free agency

The Buffalo Bills did not sign Trey Hendrickson during the NFL’s 2026 free agency period.

But they tried.

Hendrickson, 31, was involved in the whirlwind headlines surrounding the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. In the end, after the Ravens agreed to trade for Maxx Crosby via the Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore stepped away from the trade and signed Hendrickson to a four-year deal.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Bills were among five other teams that expressed interest in signing the All-Pro pass rusher… but failed to do so:

Hendrickson was a first-team, All-Pro player in 2024 and is a four-time Pro Bowler in a long battle over salary with the Cincinnati Bengals for years. He finally got his departure from Cincy, but landed in Baltimore.

Instead, Buffalo turned their attention to Bradley Chubb. He went on to be the Bills’ marquee addition on the edge, signing a three-year deal.

Bills Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2026 offseason.
