Florida State is rolling up its sleeves and attacking the 2028 recruiting class. Running back prospect Caiden Bellard is one of their key targets in the cycle, and they extended him an offer last week.
Other notable programs have also put their bids in for Bellard as his offer list has exploded since the beginning of the year. However, despite being one of the latest to the party, FSU is standing out.
“All of them are really catching my eye,” said Bellard via Noles247. “I worked really hard to get here, and I’m going to continue to work hard, but the ones I would say I didn’t expect right away are LSU, Ohio State, Houston, and Florida State. When I got them, it just makes me want to go harder, because I know now where I can go with this and also how fast I could lose it.”
Bellard is already locking in visits to some of the top contenders in his recruitment. He hasn’t set a date with Florida State yet, but he plans to soon.
“I’ll be at Ohio State on March 28 and LSU on March 24,” Bellard said. “I’m trying to lock in dates on the other ones, but I’m trying to get to Houston, Florida State, and TCU.”
He’s coming off a very productive sophomore year at Lafayette Christian Academy. The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder averaged 6.4 yards per carry and registered 1,532 yards and scored 21 touchdowns. For the season, Bellard had eight 100-yard performances.
At the moment, Bellard isn’t a ranked prospect.
