Jaxson Dart addressed Giants teammates about President Trump introduction

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart addressed his teammates in a team meeting on Wednesday to discuss his introduction of President Donald Trump at a campaign rally the previous week, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport report.

Dart introduced Trump at a May 22 event in Suffern, New York, for Rep. Mike Lawler, telling the crowd, “Big Blue Nation, it’s a pleasure to be here,” before presenting the “45th and 47th President of the United States.” Trump praised the young QB as a future Hall of Famer.

The appearance drew mixed reactions, including public questioning from teammate Abdul Carter on social media. Carter later clarified that he and Dart had spoken privately and “everything [is] good.”

Other team leaders also spoke during the meeting. The group discussed keeping issues internal rather than airing them publicly.

Offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor previously stated that the locker room is “fine” and the drama has been put to rest.

The Giants organization reportedly viewed Dart’s appearance as a misstep due to the distraction it created, though they respect his personal rights. Head coach John Harbaugh has addressed the matter with Dart directly.

Most reports indicate the team has worked through the situation and is moving forward, focused on football as they prepare for the season.
