Bills cornerback gets birthday serenade from fans at training camp

A little bit louder now.

Maxwell Hairston didn’t need to ask Bills fans twice.

The Buffalo Bills cornerback celebrated his 23rd birthday Thursday at training camp, where fans repeatedly serenaded him with “Happy Birthday” as he spent more than a half-hour signing autographs after practice.

It started near the main stands at St. John Fisher University. It continued under the tunnel. And fans waiting along the gates behind the stadium joined in as Hairston slowly made his way toward the locker room.

Hairston acknowledged them every time.

He danced. He smiled and waved. He thanked fans. At one point, Hairston extended an arm and put his other hand to his ear, Hulk Hogan-style, encouraging them to get louder.

By the time he finally reached the locker room, Hairston had celebrated his 23rd birthday with hundreds of Bills fans.

It certainly beat his birthday at training camp a year ago.

Hairston suffered a right LCL sprain during practice July 29, 2025, an injury that derailed the start of his rookie season. The Bills eventually placed their first-round pick on injured reserve Aug. 26, forcing him to miss the beginning of the season.

A year later, Hairston was healthy, practicing and spending his birthday signing seemingly every autograph he could.

He made a play during Thursday’s practice, too. Hairston broke up a deep Josh Allen pass intended for wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr.

Then came the birthday party.

And another rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

And another.
