New York Giants sign defensive lineman who can also play fullback

The New York Giants signed fullback Grant Finley and waived tight end Tyler Moore on Thursday, continuing a flurry of roster moves as training camp progresses.

Finley, a 6-foot-4, 281-pound undrafted free agent out of Missouri Western, primarily played defensive line in college while seeing some time at fullback. He earned third-team All-MIAA honors in 2024 after starting all 11 games and posting 29 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and a team-high five sacks.

As a senior in 2025, Finley recorded 21 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks and five passes defensed to earn second-team recognition.

At his pro day, Finley worked out at both defensive tackle and fullback, posting a 4.88-second 40-yard dash and an elite Relative Athletic Score. He participated in the Giants’ rookie minicamp in May as a tryout player after also visiting the Kansas City Chiefs but was not initially signed.

The team later brought him back for veteran minicamp as well, keeping tabs on the versatile prospect before inking him this week.

The addition gives the Giants another versatile body behind veteran fullback Patrick Ricard. New York plans to feature a traditional fullback in a run-heavy, tight end-heavy offense under head coach John Harbaugh.

Moore, an undrafted free agent signed last week, was waived to clear a roster spot.
