Geno Smith has a new secret weapon. It’s in the eye of the beholder.
In a literal sense.
Smith, 35, returned to the New York Jets via trade this offsesason. Smith has had a certain twinkle in his eye his joining the team that drafted him in 2013.
OK, that’s enough puns. But Smith really is using a secret weapon relating to his eyes.
The quarterback revealed on Thursday that he is wearing contact lenses that have a tint of red to them. The idea? Former Jets teammate Santonio Holmes told Smith way back in 2013 that it helps keep glares out of his eyes.
Hey, if it helps, why not?
