The Boilermaker Road Race is right around the corner and local vocalists are invited to audition to sing the National Anthem at the various Boilermaker Race Weekend festivities.
“The annual National Anthem auditions have become a celebrated tradition, showcasing talented singers from across the Mohawk Valley and providing local performers with a unique opportunity to be part of one of the nation’s premier road racing events,” Boilermaker Road Race officials said in a statement.
Auditions will take place at 6 p.m. on June 24 at Babe’s at Harbor Point in Utica.
While live auditions are preferred to ensure the singer’s ability to perform in front of an audience, those unable to attend the event are encouraged to submit an MP3 file before June 24 for consideration.
Selected performers will be notified no later than June 30 and will have the opportunity to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” at designated official Boilermaker events throughout race weekend, including in front of tens of thousands of people at the Saranac Post-Race Party following the Boilermaker on July 12.
Contest organizers encourage interested singers of all ages to register in advance if planning to come to the live audition event or submit their MP3 as soon as possible in hopes of taking advantage of the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of runners, volunteers, and spectators during Boilermaker Race Weekend.
