Arkport senior named All-Greater Rochester Track and Field Athlete of the Year

Here is the 2026 All-Greater Rochester Boys Track and Field Team as determined by a vote of Section V coaches with input from Democrat and Chronicle staff.

Athlete of the Year

Ibrahim Ford

Team:  Arkport/Canaseraga

Year: Senior

Parents: Tammy and Brad Fish

Events: Steeplechase/distance runs 

Why Ford is the Athlete of the Year: Ford won both the Federation and Class C 3,000-meter steeplechase state championship races, which were held at the same time. That means Ford finished ahead of all the other competitors, regardless of school classification.

The victory capped a strong state meet for Ford. The 2025 AGR Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year also won the Class C 3,200-meter title, finished second in the Federation standings and was runner-up in the Class C 1,600-meter race. Ford was also named to All-Greater Rochester Indoor Track & Field Team during his senior year.

Future plans: Ford said after the fall season, that he plans to “attend Cornell University to study engineering and further my running career.”

Callahan Tallman

Team: Belfast/Genesee Valley

Year: Senior

Parents: Justine and Chad Tallman

Events: Jumps

Key accomplishment: High jumping 6 feet-6 inches.

Future plans: I plan on running track at Brockport

Simon Aguilar

School: Geneseo

Year: Senior

Parents: Dawn and Cesar Aguilar

Events: Relays/Longer sprints/distance races

Key accomplishments: Winning two state titles in one day (4×400 and 4×800 relays)

Future plans: I plan to attend University at Buffalo in the fall and run on the Division I team while studying civil engineering.

Paris Brooken

School: University Prep

Year: Senior

Parent: Theresa Brooken

Events: Sprints and jumps

Key accomplishment: Three sectional championships in one day.

Future plans: Edinboro University.

Aiden Bryant

School: Midlakes

Year: Senior

Parents: Emily Bryant and Joseph Lord

Events: Jumps

Key accomplishment: Second-best American at the Penn Relays in the triple jump.

Future plans: Plan to pursue my athletic and academic career at Princeton University, jumping for their track team.

Noah Collins-Howard

School: Rush-Henrietta

Year: Junior

Parents: Natalya and Terrance Collins-Howard

Events: Short sprints/4×100 relay anchor

Key accomplishment: Running 10.55 seconds in the 100-meter dash.

Future plans: Attend Syracuse University and play Division I football.

Luis Falu

School: Monroe

Year: Senior

Parent: Ambar Falu

Events: Short sprints/4×100 relay/long jump

Key accomplishment: Running the number one time in the 200 this year in Section V.

Future plans: I’ll be attending SUNY Brockport and will be playing football and running.

Alex Fish

School: Hilton

Year: Junior

Parents: Tammy and Brad Fish

Event: Pole vault

Key accomplishment: Placing fifth at the New York State championships with a personal record jump of 15 feet.

Future plans: Still looking at colleges.

Desmond Hill

School: Marcus Whitman

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Melinda and Lawrence Hill

Events: Distance runs/800/4×800 relay

Key accomplishment: Running 7:57 in the 4×800 with my older brother at the state championships.

Future plans: Attend a local competitive running college where I would I want to focus on the mile.

Karvel Martino

School: Batavia

Year: Senior

Parents: Rachell Soggs and Fred Martino

Events: Throws

Key accomplishment: Second in states in the Class B shot put competition.

Future plans: Alfred State.

Finn McIntyre

School: Brighton

Year: Senior

Parents: Jessica Norton and Kevin McIntyre

Event: Pentathlon (hurdles, shot put, long jump, high jump and 1,600-meters)

Key accomplishment: 3,162 points in the Victor Invitational pentathlon.

Future plans: Florida State University.

Juan Muñoz III

School: Webster Thomas

Year: Senior

Parents: Jalise and Juan Muñoz

Events: Jumps/4×100 and 4×400 relays

Key accomplishments: Third place in Class A state triple jump and fifth in Federation state contest. Finished seventh in Class A long jump at states.

Future plans: I will be attending SUNY Geneseo in the fall and be a part of their track and field team.

Colin Rea

School: Byron-Bergen

Year: Senior

Parents: Susan and Matthew Rea

Events: Hurdles

Key accomplishment: My 54.14 second race in the Class C 400-meter hurdles to win at states.

Future plans: Run track at SUNY Geneseo.

Ben Rizzone

School: Brighton

Year: Senior

Parents: Kathryn Kubiak-Rizzone and Katherine Rizzone

Event: 400-meter race

Key accomplishment: 48.84 seconds in the 400.

Future plans: Going to North Carolina State for civil engineering.

Cade Shamp

School: Batavia

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Krista and Tom Shamp

Events: Throws

Key accomplishments: Winning sectionals with my team, and moving on to the New York State championships with two other throwers from Batavia.

Future plans: This was my junior year. I hope to repeat a sectional win with my team. Also, make it to nationals and throw 180 feet in the discus throw competition.

Josh Tara

School: Webster Schroeder

Year: Junior

Parents: Kelly L. and Jeff J. Tara

Event: Pole vault

Key accomplishment: Placing second at states with a new personal record of 15 feet-6 inches.

Future plans: I plan on attending college and competing in track and field, as well as majoring in sports medicine.

Beckham Taylor

School: Pittsford Sutherland

Year: Senior

Parents: Chyril and Matthew Taylor

Events: Jumps

Key accomplishment: 6 feet-10 inch high jump.

Future plans: University of Buffalo.

Ashton Thomas

School: Webster Thomas

Year: Junior

Parent: Rachel Holmes

Event: Triple jump

Key accomplishment: 50 feet-11 inches at states, winning the Federation and Class A titles. He went on to win a national championship.

Future plans: Haven’t decided.

Michael Tubbs

School: Eastridge

Year: Junior

Parents: Sarah and Michael Tubbs

Events: Sprints

Key accomplishment: 21.82 seconds in the 200-meter dash

Future plans: Run track in college.

Coach of the Year

Randy Nasso

School: Northstar Christian Academy

Profession: Senior Spec. Trade Compliance with L3 Harris.

Varsity coaching experience: Northstar track and Field (2017-current), boys varsity soccer (2015-current).

Family: Ruth Ann (wife), Collin (son, ran track at Houghton University), Trevor (son, currently running cross country and track at Geneva College).
