A Steuben County man was killed late Friday, April 3 in a one-vehicle crash on county Route 67 in the town of Hornellsville, New York State Police said.

Police said the 2022 Dodge Ram was on its roof in a ditch on the south side of Route 67, with the driver and sole occupant, Mathew J. Cady, 32, of Arkport, pinned inside.

State police said Cady was extricated with the assistance of fire personnel and transported by ambulance to St. James Hospital in Hornell, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, state police said.

How to support the Cady family

An organizer has established a Meal Train to support the Cady family.

“The world lost a wonderful dad, husband, friend, son, family member, and person very unexpectedly. Let’s help support Kayla and her girls during this unimaginable time by donating meals to them,” the Meal Train posting says.

Please visit the Meal Train link for information on how to donate.
