Each year, communities in the lower Hudson Valley host parades, barbecues and other family fun events to commemorate Independence Day.

4th of July events in Westchester
Mamaroneck: The Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department is hosting its annual Fireman’s Carnival at Harbor Island Park from 6 to 10 p.m. from Thursday, June 26 to Saturday, July 5. A special event during the carnival’s run on Friday, July 4 starting at 4 p.m. includes carnival rides, games with prizes and festival food. Wristbands for unlimited rides at the carnival are available at the entrance of the park for $35.
South Salem: The Town of Lewisboro will host its annual Independence Day celebration from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 4 at the Lewisboro Town Pool in South Salem. The event will include live music performances, food trucks, a bouncy castle and a tie-dye shirt station. Guests are invited to bring their own pool floats and shirts to tie-dye. Town residents can pay the daily admission at the gate, while admission for adult guests is $18 and children is $12.
White Plains: The City of White Plains is hosting its Independence Day celebration from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2 at White Plains High School. The celebration will include food trucks, live music and giant inflatable rides. Admission is free and guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring blankets and chairs.
Somers: The Somers Lions Club and the Somers Chamber of Commerce will host an Independence Day celebration at Reis Park in Katonah starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 3. The celebration includes a basketball tournament, a hot dog eating contest and live music. Admission is free for Somers residents and their guests. No pets are allowed.
Rye: The Barley Beach House in Rye is hosting a beach party from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The patriotic party will be packed with live music, a tasty buffet and Hawaiian dancers. There will be two Hawaiian dance and fire shows at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Seating on the beach portion of the restaurant is limited on a first come, first serve basis. Personal blankets and chairs for beach seating is required. The event is only available for people 21 years old and over. Tickets are $100 per person and include all the offered amenities, including dinner. However, a non-alcoholic ticket is $70 per person. Rye Town parking fees also apply.
Peekskill: The Peekskill Volunteer Firefighter’s Association will hold its 63rd annual Independence Day parade starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 4. The mile-long parade route starts on Crompond Road and will end on North Broad Street at the Central Fire House. Refreshments will follow.
Tarrytown: The village is hosting its annual Independence Day celebration from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 4 at Pierson Park. The event will include live music from KickStart Charlie, food trucks and a kid’s fun zone with face painting and a bouncy castle. Admission is free and parking is limited, so train transportation to the village is recommended.
